Conference: ICM 2024 – Advances in Material Innovation
There is just over a month to go before the submission deadline for the fifth international conference “Advances in Material Innovation”. This is an in-person conference that will take place in the beautiful city of Basel, Switzerland, from 25th-27th September 2024.
This conference follows previous successful conferences in this series, the last most recent being 4th International Conference of Materials 2022, (ICM 2022) held in October 2022 in Barcelona.
The conference, hosted by MDPI (publisher of Materials), will follow a two-day format. With the deadline for submissions approaching, here we go over important details you need to know about this exciting conference.
Conference details
ICM 2024 hopes to bring together leading scientists researchers and experts from around the world to present their findings in the field of materials. The conference topics will include material characterisation, processing and manufacturing. In particular, the key focus areas include Nanotechnology in both material sciences and engineering. Furthermore, focus will also be put on topics such as optical, electrical and magnetic materials. Membranes, thin films, sensing materials as well as materials and devices for energy and solar fuels will also be covered. The conference will welcome discussions on the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) in materials research.
The field of Materials is constantly expanding with new technologies and methodologies to explore. ICM 2024 has organized a variety of sessions where leading scientists in the materials field will present their research. This includes Professor Dr Milica Radisic who has revolutionized the field of organ-on-chip engineering as well as developing biomaterials that promote healing and attenuate scaring. Professor Dr Milica Radisic is joined by an impressive line-up of speakers including Dr. Natarajan Angulakshmi, Dr. Ingo Dierking, Prof. Dr. Bharat Gwalani, Prof. Dr. Milan Kracalik, Prof. Dr. Abdollah Saboori and Dr. Arul Manuel Stephan.
MDPI is excited to welcome all participants to Basel to discuss innovations in material science research. This is an in-person event only, and it is not possible to participate online.
What is the purpose of ICM 2024?
The conference is an opportunity for leading scientists, researchers and industry experts to exchange insights on innovation and recent advancements in the field of materials.
Why did MDPI launch the conference?
The Materials journal provides an advanced forum for research studies which promote innovation in the field of Materials.
According to the Welcome from the Chairs, the aim is to explore the latest findings in the scientific field of Materials focusing on innovation as well as the integration of future technologies, including AI and ML.
The Materials journal has continued to contribute in many different ways to the research community. Learn more about Materials here.
