From Innovation to Translation: The 6th International Conference on Materials

MDPI is excited to host the 6th International Conference on Materials (ICM 2026). Taking place in Manchester, England, the in-person event will run from 16 to 18 September 2026, bringing together industry professionals in the field of materials science.

What is the purpose of ICM 2026?

The Materials conference will bring together researchers, industry professionals, and experts from around the globe to share the latest advancements, exchange ideas, and foster collaborations in the field.

The event will explore a wide range of topics, from biomaterials and bioelectronics to magnetic materials and materials for catalysis, and will provide a platform for discussing cutting-edge research, emerging challenges and future directions in the field.

Event awards

MDPI is pleased to offer three awards for participations of ICM 2026. Sponsored by the journal Materials, the following awards will be presented at the conference:

  • Best Oral Presentation Award (x1)
  • Best Poster Award (x2)

Participating in ICM 2026

Attendees can submit abstracts for a chance to present their work in the form of oral and poster presentation until 19 April 2026. Authors will be notified of acceptance by 20 May 2026.

Registration for the ICM conference will be open until 30 August 2026 – please note that the number of participants is limited.

For attendees who have submitted an abstract to present at the event, the covering author must register by 29 July 2026. Abstracts without completed registration by this date will be withdrawn.

Attendees also have the exciting opportunity to contribute a full manuscript to the Special Issue related to the conference in the journal Materials.
