The abstract submission deadline for the Conference Pharmaceuticals 2024! “Recent Advances in Pharmaceutical Sciences Towards a Healthy Life” is fast approaching—30 July 2024. This is an in-person conference celebrating the 20^th anniversary of Pharmaceuticals. It will take place in the glorious city of Barcelona on 27‒29 November 2024.

Pharmaceuticals 2024 will also honour Professor Jean Jacques Vanden Eynde, the former Editor-in-Chief of Pharmaceuticals (2015‒2022), in recognition of his dedication to the journal.

The conference hopes to bring together leading scientists, researchers, and experts from around the world to present research which aims to advance and add to the field of pharmaceutical sciences. Researchers and leading scientists in the field will present their research showcasing the art of discovering new molecules. This includes demonstrating their physical properties and mechanisms and their role in the search for molecular entities to improve human health and quality of life.

The conference, hosted by MDPI (publisher of Pharmaceuticals), will follow a two-day format. With the deadline for submissions approaching, we go over important details you need to know about this exciting conference.

Pharmaceuticals 2024 details

The conference topics will delve into the newest technologies in the field as well as the latest research in multiple areas of medicine. This includes medicinal chemistry, natural products, organic synthesis, radiopharmaceuticals, pharmacology, toxicology and biomolecular and glycosciences.

Medicine is a field that is constantly expanding and depends on the development of new technologies and research methods. Pharmaceuticals 2024 provides a platform for experts to present their latest findings and discuss current issues in the healthcare sector such as combating infection, inflammation, pain and neurodegeneration.

During the conference, we will hear from an impressive list of both plenary and invited speakers who will address these topics. This includes Prof. Dr. Jesús Jiménez-Barbero, Prof. Dr. Peter Seeberger. Prof. Dr. Tanja M. Wrodnigg, Prof. Dr. Maria Emília Sousa, Dr. Nuno Manuel Xavier, Dr. Juan Carlos Morales, Prof. Dr. Osvaldo Andrade Santos-Filho, Prof. Dr. Svetlana Tsogoeva, Prof. Dr. Irina Velikyan and Dr. Maria Maiarú.

Additionally, we will also hear from our honorary guest Professor Jean Jacques Vanden Eynde, who will present research on the state of pharmaceuticals since 2004. Professor Jean Jacques Vanden was the Editor-in-Chief of Pharmaceuticals from 2015 to 2022. During this time, he made countless important contributions to the success of the journal.

MDPI is excited to welcome all participants to Basel to discuss innovations in material science research. This is an in-person event only, and it is not possible to participate online.

Pharmaceuticals 2024 is partnered with The Sociedad Española de Química Terapéutica  (Spanish Society of Medicinal Chemistry) (SEQT). The SEQT is a non-profit and multidisciplinary entity that was created in 1977. It brings together professionals, companies, and organisations whose activities are related to Spanish pharmaceutical research and development institutions.

The SEQT aim to develop the field of medical chemistry by organising scientific meetings and providing professionals with the opportunity to discuss and collaborate on research as well as supporting and training advanced graduate students in this field. Additionally, the SEQT is associated with the European Federation for Medicinal Chemistry and Chemical Biology (EFMC), which brings together graduates and professionals working in the field.
